ROCK CLIMBING IN SIERRA DE LOS PADRES
LOW SIERRASOF BUENOS AIRES

Would you like to learn how to climb on rock walls or continue adding meters on the vertical plane in contact with nature?

Discover this outing designed for everyone to live the rock climbing experience according to their own level. Sierra de los Padres is located 30 km from the city of Mar del Plata. As a safety system, anchors previously fixed to the wall (“chapas”) are used, which allows climbing on vertical walls in a very safe way.

In this unique setting, the rocky outcrops are the ideal scenario for rock climbing.

To get to the climbing walls we will have to walk from 20 to 40 minutes; the height of the climbing routes varies from 8 to 15mts. There are also large boulders in the area ideal for bouldering.

All this, accompanied by homemade food, nutritious, healthy and adapted to the needs of each participant, accompanied by a team of professional guides who will provide the necessary assistance and safety at all times.

Your itinerary for the adventure

Although we make every effort to adhere to the itinerary described below, the itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control, including weather and terrain conditions.

1

Day 1: Reception and Climbing

We meet at 10:00 in Sierra de los Padres where we start with breakfast, presentation of the group and recognition of the hostel. We get our personal backpacks ready to start walking to the foot of the route around 10:40. The approach to the climbing sectors proposes short walks of no more than 40 minutes on slopes that may require the use of the hands without being extremely difficult. Once in the sector, we equip ourselves to begin the activity. We review the fundamental guidelines for safety and those who wish may participate in the initiation workshop to learn how to give safety to the companion. Around 17:00 we will start the return to the hostel, after a short stretch we can enjoy a good swim and relax waiting for the barbecue to be ready!
2

Day 2: Climbing and Closing

We get up early to make the most of the day, breakfast will be ready at 9:30 am and at 10:10 am we approach the sierra again in search of a different climbing sector from the previous day, in order to appreciate the different areas and their particularities. Once again, we will dedicate the day to climbing with lunch at the foot of the routes at noon. Being the last day, we will end the climbing activity at 15:40 to return to the hostel area, take a bath, arrange the luggage while we have lunch and start the return home, closing and end of the outing at 17:00.

List of required equipment

The key to your comfort during active travel is to wear layers (see Layering Clothing Basics). For maximum comfort at minimum weight, you need versatile layers that combine insulation, ventilation and weather protection. That’s why we created this list to help you choose gear and bring only what you need. Weather and other conditions on the ground will dictate what clothing and gear you should wear each day.
