TREKKING TO PUEBLO ESCONDIDO AND SALTO DEL TIGRE
SLEEPING IN REFUGE WITH FULL BOARD

Would you like to explore an old abandoned mining town?

A trekking in the Sierras de los Comechingones up to Pueblo Escondido, ideal to get started in the world of trekking and mountaineering. From the city of Merlo in San Luis, we will travel by vehicle to the edge of the sierras, where the trail begins.

In this trip, we will make a journey of 2 days and 1 night, we will walk to Pueblo Escondido, an old mining site nestled in the middle of the mountains where we can explore the most beautiful corners of the place.

We will also visit the Salto del tigre and the Cerro Aspero Mines!

All this, accompanied by homemade food, nutritious, healthy and adapted to the needs of each participant, with the help of a team of professional guides who will provide the necessary assistance and safety at all times.

Your itinerary for the adventure

Although we make every effort to adhere to the itinerary described below, the itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control, including weather and terrain conditions.


DÍA 1

RECEPTION AND TREKKING TO PUEBLO ESCONDIDO + MINE

We will meet at 10:00 am at the Merlo bus station in San Luis, where we will board the transfer to the starting point at the ridge.

We start the trekking towards Pueblo Escondido, we will settle in the rooms and explore the area, knowing an area of pools and a hidden waterfall in the vicinity, and we will have the possibility to visit the mines of the rough hill.

Trekking time: 7-8 hs approx
Kilometers: 10 km
Starting altitude: 2.000 masl
Height Pueblo Escondido: 1.650 masl
Height Minas: 1.900 masl Height Minas: 1.900 masl

DÍA 2

SALTO DEL TIGRE AND RETURN TO MERLO

We get up early to visit Salto del Tigre, where we will have lunch on the banks of the waterfall.

We will then return to the starting point, where we will make the group closure and board the transfer that takes us back to the Merlo bus station where the trip ends.

Trekking time: 2-3 hours approx
Kilometers: 5 km
Starting altitude: 1,650 m
Ending altitude: 2,000 m

List of required equipment

The key to your comfort during active travel is to wear layers (see Layering Clothing Basics). For maximum comfort at minimum weight, you need versatile layers that combine insulation, ventilation and weather protection.
