SHORT TREKKING ACONCAGUA TO PLAZA FRANCIA
Would you like to trek to the viewpoint of the south wall of Aconcagua and camp among the mountains under a sea of stars?
An ideal experience to know the highest mountain in America, making the short trekking of Aconcagua reaching more than 4100 meters above sea level.
Aconcagua Provincial Park is located 190 km from Mendoza City, Argentina, near Puente del Inca.
We will visit the Horcones Lagoon and the Confluencia camp where the ascent to the colossus of America begins, the extensive lower Horcones Glacier and the viewpoint of the impressive south wall of Aconcagua with more than 3000 vertical meters of rock, hanging glaciers and frozen waterfalls.
This trip of 3 days and 2 nights, we will trek approximately 30 km reaching the viewpoint of the south wall of Cerro Aconcagua. We will sleep in shared tents and the service provided by the guides includes all meals.
The trekking has little difficulty and is ideal for beginners in high altitude mountaineering.
All of this, accompanied by a team of qualified professional guides who will provide you with the necessary assistance and safety at all times.

Your itinerary for the adventure
Although we make every effort to adhere to the itinerary described below, the itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control, including weather and terrain conditions.
Trekking to Confluencia
We meet at the entrance to the Aconcagua Provincial Park, to make the last adjustments to the equipment (backpack and poles) and start the trekking. Entering the Horcones ravine, we will visit its lagoons and breathtaking views of the mountain to finally arrive at Confluencia Camp, our base for the next 2 nights.

Trekking to Plaza Francia
The next day, we will wake up early to have breakfast and prepare the backpacks with the minimum and indispensable for the light trekking.
We will enter through the gorge of the Lower Horcones Glacier, walking alongside it along the valley. The imposing views of the south wall of Aconcagua begin to appear little by little as we gain altitude.
At 4150 meters above sea level, we will take a well-deserved break to celebrate and appreciate the impressive south face of Aconcagua, the colossus of America. We can stay for a while at the viewpoint to take pictures and have lunch, and then retrace our steps.

Return and farewell
On the last day, after breakfast we will return to the park entrance where we will close the park.

List of required equipment
The key to your comfort during active travel is to wear layers (see Layering Clothing Basics). For maximum comfort at minimum weight, you need versatile layers that combine insulation, ventilation and weather protection.
